Rich Learning Tasks in Room 9

The children in Room 9 are really enjoying using Complex Thinking Skills and Rich Maths Tasks to help them to understand their Maths concepts.
We have been focused on fraction problems and how their Maths knowledge can be recalled in other ways to help them to solve the equations.
The children have quickly adapted to this way of working and  they are all experiencing success when dealing with fractions. Fractions is one of the hardest Maths concepts for children to grasp. By collaborating with their peers they are able to share their knowledge and understanding. The more able students are mentoring their less able classmates in a true tuakan/teina way.






The children are all looking forward to being the host and talking about their learning with you at their Student Led Conferences this week.
