Learning Collaboratively.

In Room 9 we are learning how to solve problems with fractions. We are all in an Inquiry Maths group of 3 or 4 people. We work together to solve our Maths problems by using Complex Thinking skills and Rich Maths tasks. We can use our basic facts knowledge and any equipment that we need for our tasks.
There are rules for us to work this way:-

  • Everyone has a turn.
  • No one's answers are silly so there are no put downs.
  • We help each other - tuakana / teina.

Here are some examples of our working out.

Everyone got the answers to these problems correct. Mrs Geal was so proud of us because this is a new way of learning for us.
